The knife I ordered was exactly what I wanted and at a great price. Everything shipped quickly with good packaging and I also appreciated the note about product availability. They also kindly sent me other items due to the order changes.
I really like it. Sharp oob, great balance. Super comfortable handle!
I'm very happy with this purchase.
This is a very practical knife. Good size. It can be used for scooping up chopped ingredients and transferring them. It is heavier than a standard chef's knife. The center of gravity is on the blade. The knife arrives super sharp out of the box. All of this helps you cut with minimal effort.
The Damascus cladding is inconspicuous, but even if it was missing, I wouldn't notice it or miss it. It is unnecessarily emphasized in the photos. This is not good marketing practice.
The handle... It is made of wood that is not super polished. It is also a little rough on one side. I treated it with MCT oil to keep it in good condition. A handle made this way allows for an extremely comfortable and stable grip. If your hands are wet, the handle does not slip at all. It is truly a pleasure to use this knife.
I have been using it for a few days just for cutting vegetables.
I would not be surprised if it becomes one of the few knives, I use daily at home.
I am extremely satisfied with this purchase.
I purchased a knife block and a paring knife from these folks. High quality products matched with exceptional customer service. I'm a stickler for this sort of thing and I give them a most high recommendation. I'll be back.
I've had numerous sharpening systems over 50+ years of woodworking, and this mix of grits plus the added accoutrements make for a very simple and effective system whether I am sharpening kitchen knives or shop chisels and plane blades. For the price, there is nothing better.
Shipping was fast and the workmanship of the knife is very good beautiful knife, also the box and packaging was very good suitable for a nice gift.
I bought this knife on a screaming good deal. It came in the mail and I immediately bought a few things to chop up. The handle feels great, the blade is sharp, and the knife is fantastic in every way. I've used it a lot and each time I've been very happy with it.
It's a nice knife, but I'm a bit disappointed that it is listed as a Japanese knife, but all over the packaging and the knife itself, it says "Made in China." I suppose it is a Japanese-style
nikiri, but I wish I had known, as I bought this as a gift.
This will be my first time trying them but from what I can tell they are very well made and I’m looking forward to using them!
My end grain cutting board is beautiful to handle and an absolute value. Even better, the customer service is personable and top-notch; they handled an inquiry I made with more attention than I expected. Will be recommending The Bamboo Guy every time I spy an aging board in someone else's kitchen.
Excellent product for tying up raspberry bushes, tomatoes , no tool needed to cut tape , sting enough to hold through season ,
As a fan of steel from Seki Japan, at first I was skeptical and it sounded too good to be true. When we are so used to something it’s hard to believe that there are good products not as expensive as the one you are used to and I couldn’t be more happy with this purchase. Xinzou mastered the art of powder steel providing the knife with one of the hardest core you can find in the market. The 73 layers are real, not laser engraved and you do feel it in the knife. The knife arrived perfectly sharp and protected individually wrapped in a beautiful box. As any sharp knife you do have to be careful, since this knife are really sharp. I regret of not buying a larger set and I ended up ordering more to complete the set with a cleaver. I read some complaints regarding the handle, but frankly speaking it feels like real olive wood, and it hadn’t get dark, nor unpleasant to the touch. It’s true that I might prefer another finish in the handle, specially for the meat knife to use at the table, but this one are not bad at all and the price is fair.
This is a beautiful knife block. The fit and finish is exceptional. The size is perfect, it holds my 8” chef’s knife, 7” santoku, 4” paring knife, 6” utility knife, and 10” honing steel very well. Knives slide in and out of the slots very easily. The whole setup doesn’t take up a lot of counter space. It’s the best looking thing in my kitchen!
